Two blocks from Rupp Arena, 400 Hispanic people witnessed a demonstration of Jesus’ crucification on Good Friday, as a part of the Stations of the Cross.
Actors walked nearly a mile around Historic St. Paul Catholic Church, performing each station of the cross at different stops.
Neighbors watched from their porches as a crowd followed, singing hymns and holding hands with loved ones, while the sun sank behind the downtown buildings.
Two days later, more than 1000 people filled Historic St. Paul Catholic Church on Easter Sunday to celebrate his rebirth during the Spanish-language mass.
