Powai’s Top Cop Visits Sunni Jama Masjid Ahead of Ramzaan

Powai’s ‘top cop’ Senior Police Inspector (Sr.PI) Sudhakar Kamble visited the ‘Sunni Jama Masjid’ near the IIT Market, where he interacted with the locals and members of the ‘Sunni Jama Masjid Committee’ to spread awareness about the spread of the Coronavirus ahead of ‘Ramzaan.’

The senior police official had called for a meeting with the clerics and committee members, requesting them to celebrate ‘Ramzaan’ while ensuring social distance and refrain from congregating in numbers.

Sr.PI Kamble also asked them to pray for the speedy recovery of the country from this pandemic and, pray for the personnel of Powai police, who are on the frontlines of the suburbs fight against the deadly Coronavirus.

Speaking to ‘The Watchdog News’ Sr. PI Kamble said, “I feel elated after interacting with the members of the Sunni Jama Masjid, it was heartening to see that they were maintaining adequate social distance during the meeting. Such discipline during these testing times is not only welcome but deeply appreciated."

"Being a police officer, I have witnessed a lot of indiscipline during the past few weeks, but witnessing the discipline today was absolutely a breath of fresh air,” added the senior police official.

“I have asked them to pray for their countrymen and the brave men and women of our police department during the upcoming Ramzan. We need all the blessing we can get,” added the police official.

Speaking about the senior police officials visit, a senior member from the Sunni Jama Masjid Committee said, “It was a pleasure interacting with Sr.PI Kamble, we have assured him that all lockdown are and will be followed during our celebration of ‘Ramzaan’ and there will be no violation of the law, be it now, during festivities or after.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are out there with our fellow countrymen and with the gallant men and women of the Powai police department who are braving the odds for our safety during these tough times.”

The senior police officials visit a part of a series of public awareness drives by the Powai police station to ensure that law and order are maintained during this lockdown amidst festivities.
