A resident from Gundecha Altura, a housing society in the S Ward tested for COVID-19 last night. Health Department officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) S Ward had conducted ‘contact tracing’ in the society earlier today. The civic officials conducted a survey of flats ranging from the 15th floor to the 18th floor in the society's A-Wing; (1501 to 1504, 1601 to 1604 (barring 1603), 1701 to 1801)
Speaking to ‘The Watchdog News’ a medical official from the S Ward said, “We have identified a COVID-19 positive patient from Gundecha Altura last night. Our team has conducted contact tracing to identify and isolate close contact and no risk contact people with whom the patient may have interacted with. Some families living on the 16th floor have been asked to maintain home quarantine for 14 days.”
According to an internal message issued by the housing society to residents on Whatsapp, all three family members residing in 1604 and residents living in 1603 and 1601 have been advised two week home quarantine.
S Ward which consists of areas like Bhandup (E) (W), Kanjurmarg (E) W), Vikhroli (E) (W), Powai among other places have witnessed over 1,500 cases since the spread of the virus in the city. These cases have had a 48.37% recovery rate so far.
