According to the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (Mumbai), The number of Coronavirus cases in the countries financial capital is now at 4,232 following 478 new cases today. The number of COVID-19 related deaths in the city have risen to 168. Eight more people lost their lives today said the BMC in a statement released today.
The release further stated that 48 were discharged today, placing the total number of discharged patients at 473. Dharavi, which is a Coronavirus hotspot, saw a spike in numbers with 25 new cases, putting the overall number of cases in India's largest slum establishment. Dharavi also witnessed another Coronavirus related death, taking the death toll up to 13.
Going by the numbers presented by the BMC, Mumbai has 3,593 active COVID-19 positive cases. The state of Maharashtra has recorded a harrowing 778 coronavirus positive cases including the city of Mumbai, taking the state's COVID-19 number to 6,427. Fourteen COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the virus today taking the Coronavirus death toll in the state to 283.
